Juneteenth 1865 Collection

On June 19th in 1865, our ancestors in Galveston, Texas were informed of the abolishment of slavery two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, marking the ending of slavery for all of our people.

Today, we celebrate this victory in a major way while acknowledging the journey and hardships we’ve faced since then.
